From breaking ground on a new transformative development for Arlandria-Chirilagua, to continuing building renter credit scores; from community gardening with our kids to piloting new renter education programs, together we have been able to accomplish a great deal in 2023. Affordable housing truly can transform lives. The average Housing Alexandria family saves over $732 a month on their rent each month, compared to the market rate, because of the tools that we can utilize as a non-profit – that’s $7.5 million in savings for low-income households across our entire community every year.
And we’re just getting started on some exciting new work for 2024- developing our shared equity homeownership program, bringing housing knowledge to the community, expanding our community gardens, and celebrating 20 years of change making in Alexandria.
